Adolphe Ferriere (1879-1960) # # the founder of Bureau international des ecoles nouvelle ( B. I. E. N) - possibly came up with the best education system which research is only now able to catch up to. The 30 points of the BIEN system in my opinion were far ahead of their time and represent an educational excellency which few have aspired to achieve due to bureaucratic choke holds. His educational philosophy was based on activism, taking responsability for one's own learning, manual labour, outdoor classes as much as possible, a student centered classroom, few subjects per term and per day, sunbathing, campfires and a sense of self direction. #learning #teaching #education
