This is a 1905 photo of a team of horses hauling a wooden oil tank over snow for the John J. Sesnon Electric Company Light Plant, in Nome, Alaska. The photographer was Frank H. Nowell, who was the official photographer for the 1909 Alaska-Yukon Exposition held in Seattle and it’s likely this photo was taken as part of his visits between 1904 snd 1908 to document progress & industry in Alaska. #oil #electric
