This #BiodiversityDay 2026, our hotels and resorts around the world are coming together to help protect biodiversity from habitat loss, pollution, and climate change through conservation, education and community initiatives that echo this year’s theme: “acting locally for global impact.” Shangri-La Sydney marked the International Day for Biological Diversity with a meaningful, hands-on experience through an urban agriculture project in Sydney Park. At Sydney City Farm in St Peters, the team gained valuable insights into urban agriculture and sustainable food production. Guided by experts, the visit fostered greater awareness of environmental sustainability and highlighted the importance of protecting our natural surroundings—connecting the city with the country. From wetlands and mangroves to forests and coastlines, every action counts. This #BiodiversityDay, we hope you’ll join us in safeguarding the ecosystem you call home. #ShangriLaSydney #ESG #DoGood #Sustainability #Shine #BiodiversityDay #LocalAction #ForNature Rob Weeden Robert Miletic MBA Kathryn Blackwell Suvi Santhadkarn Daniel Ballis Mandy Jowers (née Huang) Jason Drennan Larissa Cantafio
