⚕$31 Million in Health and Medical Research Partnerships: Australia Announced Latest Investment The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has announced a new funding round for health and medical research partnerships. The investment totals more than $31 million and will support projects that aim to improve health services and processes across Australia. 🥇University of Melbourne stands out. It submitted three applications and all three were funded. It received the largest share at $4,167,214. Other universities also performed strongly. Adelaide University submitted two applications and won one grant worth $1,499,860. Flinders University, Macquarie University, Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), QUT (Queensland University of Technology), and University of Tasmania each secured one funded project. The Partnership Project scheme funds research that brings researchers and decision makers together. It supports joint work on research questions, data analysis, interpretation, and putting findings into policy and practice. The scheme requires applicants to partner with organizations outside academia. Data from the 2025 financial year show Monash University participated in the highest number of collaborative projects involving non-university institutions. Besides, the data see close research collaboration patterns among Australian universities.
