Canada Just Wrote a $1.7B Check for Research Talent. Here's What Every Other Country Is Doing? https://lnkd.in/gBbsRZ8A The Canada Global Impact+ Training Awards announced its first wave on May 28. A total of 659 awards have been offered to citizens from 72 different countries under this initiative, representing a commitment of $84.3 million over three years. This marks the first phase of a CAD 133.6 million investment to strengthen Canada’s position as a global destination for the world’s top scientists and innovators. Last December, the Canadian government launched the Canada Global Impact+ Research Talent Initiative as a part of Canada Strong, Canadian government's investment plan to build a stronger, more self-sufficient economy. The University of British Columbia will welcome 28 doctoral students and 17 postdoctoral fellows thanks to this funding. 加拿大麦吉尔大学 will create 37 new doctoral and postdoctoral positions. 加拿大卡尔加里大学 has received an allocation for 19 doctoral and 11 postdoctoral trainees. 加拿大阿尔伯塔大学 has secured a total of nearly $3.7 million grant for 19 doctoral students and 10 postdoctoral scholars. 加拿大女王大学 University has receieved 15 awards.
