✨ I was delighted to attend the first-ever UK Emerging Leaders Day, sponsored by AstraZeneca. As a Biomedical Engineering student with an interest in the pharmaceutical industry, it was a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing through discussions on Pharma 4.0, digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence and sustainability. A particular highlight was the tour of AstraZeneca’s manufacturing facilities, led by Asher Martin, which provided valuable insight into the scale, precision and complexity of pharmaceutical production. I also valued the opportunity to connect with professionals from across the industry and hear about the diverse career paths that have led them to where they are today. Many thanks to the ISPE UK Emerging Leaders team, ISPE UK Affiliate, AstraZeneca and Scitech for making this event possible, and especially to Chalisa P. for her leadership and hard work in organising such a successful event.
