It’s a rainy Sunday. My wife is relaxing with a puzzle. I’m working on a different kind of puzzle. I’m rebuilding the next generation of a tool I originally created in 2009: 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗣 (Web Analytics Solution Profiler). The new version will carry a new name: 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗦 - 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙏𝙖𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚. The ecosystem around analytics, tagging, browser instrumentation and privacy has evolved dramatically since then. Tools like 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 are incredibly impressive. I'm just flabbergasted by what they enable. Frankly, I wish tools like that had existed during my years on the tech side. That level of capability opens doors I could not have imagined when I first built WASP. If everything works as intended, this new generation of the tool - designed for marketers, analysts, developers, and privacy professionals - should push things significantly further: • better detection of trackers and data payloads, including semantic AI-driven detection • intuitive visualizations that make complex network activity understandable • faster and cleaner background processing • what may be the first 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁-𝗲𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗼-𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 for analytics and tagging Still early days. But the puzzle pieces are starting to fit together! And I'm having fun!
