May 9th is a commemoration day to highlight the life of the Kurdish teacher and poet "Farzad Kamanger" who was executed by the unlawful Islamic-based judicial system in Iran in 2010 - his crime was teaching kids their mother tongue and giving them hope to only think about their dreams and their "Layla's" despite all the inequalities and despair that exist in marginalized Kurdish regions in Iran. A Yellow Flower was born on that dark and sorrowful night when the shiny eyes of Farzad were closed forever. A Yellow Flower, including the entire album, was recorded in 2012 - I released the album in 2014.....but...I never tried to reveal the STORY of گوڵی زەرد (kulîlka zer) in past fifteen years! ...[Remember to not turn your backs on your poems, your songs, your Leyla’s and your dreams]... by Farzad Kamangar, translated from Kurdish [Wikipedia]. ➡️Lyric: Abdulla Pashew ➡️Vocals: Kaveh Baban ➡️Percussions: Farbod Yadollahi ➡️Sound (recording, mixing & mastering): Alireza Javaheri 👉🏾 Listen to the full piece: https://lnkd.in/gpS4vd4X #FarzadKamangar #AbdullaPashew #kurdishmusic #independentmusic #independentartist #vocals #WestAsaian #عەبدوڵڵا_پەشێو
