Vision of Education Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah firmly believed in a uniform system of education in Pakistan, with special emphasis on promoting technical, vocational, and scientific education. He considered this essential for the country’s industrial and economic development. He wanted educational policies and programs to be designed according to the genius of the people while keeping in view modern scientific and technological advancements around the world. He regarded education as a key driver of socioeconomic progress and development. He also believed that the primary aim of education is character building and the cultivation of a spirit of altruism and selfless service among the youth. The Quaid-e-Azam’s concern for education can be judged from his will through which he has nominated six educational institutions: Anjuman Islam School Bombay, donated Rs. 25,000; Bombay University, Rs. 50,000; Anglo-Arabic School, Delhi, Rs. 25,000; and all his remaining assets to be equally divided between the Aligarh Muslim University, Madarsa-tul-Islam, Karachi, and Islamic College Peshawar.
