What does it take to keep a publishing partnership thriving for more than a decade? It’s a question I’m asked often, and after three days during this week at The London Book Fair, the answer feels sharper than ever. Long-term trust isn’t built on flashy tools or grand gestures. It’s built on the fundamentals done well, done consistently, and done with care. If we were chatting over a cup of tea, I’d put it down to five things: ✔️ Honesty: Being straight with each other, especially when the road gets bumpy. ✔️ Consistency: Delivering top quality every single time, not just when it’s convenient. ✔️ Reliability: Meeting deadlines so our clients and their authors can breathe easy. ✔️ Leadership: Anticipating what a project needs before the pressure sets in. ✔️ Communication: Pairing professional clarity with a genuine human touch. This year’s London Book Fair was a brilliant reminder of why these principles matter.
