What if AI didn't always have to answer immediately? Today's AI is designed to think fast. Our new Nature Communications paper asks what happens when AI can also think slowly. The results suggest that slower, more deliberate reasoning can substantially improve AI performance on challenging vision tasks, including cancer detection.
