🔙👩🏼‍🏫📚📌Back to school — this time at #SOCAR Energy School. 🛢️🇹🇷🇦🇿 I’m so happy to share that I’m one of the students at this year’s #SOCAR Energy School. We kicked off our first class with a field visit to the SOCAR Aliağa Terminal, including tours of #Petkim and the #STAR Refinery. Growing up, I passed by the Aliağa Peninsula so many times — always seeing the lights. Stepping inside for the first time felt both nostalgic and impressive. And seeing the actual production behind things I’ve read about so many times in Petkim’s investor presentations — naphtha, aromatics, ethylene, petroleum coke, and so on — was a completely different experience. 📆Also, a small disclaimer: if I say “no” to your evening or weekend plans until the end of March… I’m really in class. 🙂 One thing that truly surprised me: more than 70 professionals, all with years of experience, still had that “first day of school” excitement. Kamala Pashayeva Kamala Hanım’s energy and motivation lifted everyone, and Ali Çınar added his own spark to the room as well. 🇹🇷🇦🇿And of course, hearing the stories, music and shared memories that remind us how Türkiye and Azerbaijan are truly “one nation, two states” warmed my Turkish heart in the most unexpected way.
