At Bishopi.io we analyzed 480,667 .com #domain sales from the last 28 months. The headline number isn't the $70M AI.com sale 🔥! It's the 99.4% of all .com sales closed under $10,000. Everyone pictures the domain market as six-figure flips. The data says otherwise: → 56.5% of sales were between $100 and $999 (median: $255) → Only 0.04% — 198 sales out of 480,667 — hit six figures → The ten biggest sales? 0.002% of the market A few other things that surprised us: GoDaddy moves the volume (67.9% of sales) but Sedo moves the value (8.3% of all dollars on just 1.1% of sales). They're basically two different markets sharing a file extension. And length barely matters past three characters. A 3-char .com runs ~$1,425. Everything from 5 to 13+ characters? Flat at ~$180–195. You're paying for the words, not the character count. Takeaway? for anyone buying or selling: the market that pays your bills isn't the one in the headlines. It's the sub-$1,000 band where 87% of everything actually trades. Full breakdown (with the charts) 👉 https://lnkd.in/ebppUMQ9
