As America celebrates 250 years of innovation, we're taking a journey through the milestones that helped shape the connected world we know today. 📡 In 1965, Early Bird (Intelsat I) became the world's first commercial communications satellite in geosynchronous orbit, making real-time broadcasts between North America and Europe possible and giving rise to a phrase we still know today: "live via satellite." Beginning in July, Early Bird will be on display at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., recognizing its lasting impact on the history of global communications.
