Leaving custody isn’t the end for young people, it’s often the beginning of the hardest part as they re‑enter the community. That’s why Service NSW and Youth Justice NSW have teamed up on a new ID pilot program to help young people in custody get a NSW Photo Card. The program gives eligible young people the opportunity to apply for a NSW Photo Card before they leave a Youth Justice Centre, a crucial step towards independence and accessing essential services like banking, housing, education and employment. This helps ensure equal access to government information and services for all customers, regardless of their circumstances.
