America—A country with the Guts To Try🇺🇸 Fellow Americans, have you ever wondered what would’ve happened if George Washington and his men hadn’t dare to cross the Delaware river that frigid night on December 25, 1775 which proved pivotal in our war of independence? We almost didn’t become a country and yet it is hard to imagine a country that has accomplished more in its first 250 years of its existence. Yes, we were blessed with natural resources but it is the people, the American spirit that makes this country a country like no other. A country made of people from every corner of the Earth, every walk of life, willing to fight for ideals, liberty, and justice. A country of people willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to defend this country. And yet, we still have an all-volunteer force. I know at times it is easy to only see the “messy” chapters of our country. At times it feels like the theme is that “America is in decline.” But, this theme is not new. We have had our doubts since the days of the 13 colonies. Winston Churchill is attributed to saying that “Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted." Maybe he had a point🤔 Our history is marked by many ups and downs but in my humble opinion, we are and will continue to be a country like no other, a country worth believing in, and a country worth fighting for. Don’t let anyone get you down🔥 Our greatest challenge is to keep going and never lose faith in our country. I leave you with this excerpt from the book “Sea Stories” by retired Admiral William McRaven (SEAL): “If a nation is to survive and thrive, it must pass on the ideals that made it great and in imbue in its citizens an indomitable spirit, a will to continue on regardless of how difficult the path, how long the journey, or how uncertain the outcome. People must have a true belief that tomorrow will be a better day–if only they fight for it and never give up.” Whatever you do…keep going! The only easy day was yesterday😉 Hard to express how proud I am of this country. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
