At the 2025–2026 OFC (Optical Fiber Communication Conference), the industry widely recognizes 400 Gb/s per lane optical transmission as the next major milestone for data center interconnects. NVIDIA’s NVLink 6 protocol defines peak SerDes data rates of 400 Gb/s per lane, enabling up to 3.6 Tb/s of bandwidth per GPU. This shift means that both chip-level scale-up interconnects and rack-scale or cluster-level scale-out networks must evolve from 100 G/lane or 200 G/lane architectures to 400 G/lane and beyond. https://lnkd.in/gyUrbgvw
