Raising $1 Billion to Catalyze Africa | CS @ Stanford • 2x Stanford Haas African Service Fellow | Founder @ Katalyze Africa Group| Building at the intersection of AI, Climate & Africa

A few hours ago in Boston, Ghana - the second-lowest-ranked team at the World Cup - held England to a 0-0 draw. No superstar budget. No favors from the officials. Just a well-drilled side that knew exactly why it was there and refused to be outclassed by a fan "favorite." I've been thinking about that all night because it's the same bet I'm making with Katalyze Africa, which is officially live now!!! The accelerator model that built Silicon Valley came out of a handful of campuses. StartX came out of Stanford. Breakthrough came out of Stanford. I'm building Katalyze Africa from that same campus but pointing the capital, the networks, and the knowledge back toward Africa. Originating companies from African university campuses, not extracting talent away from them. The talent on the continent was never the question. The infrastructure to back it was. The Black Stars reminded a global audience today what "underdog" really means. We intend to do the same — off the pitch. Link in the first comment. If you believe African campuses can originate world-class companies, take a look. 🇬🇭Donate And repost ! My name is Selorm Magnus Avakame ! A proud Ghanaian son from Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School ! If Sam Altman , Larry Page , Reid Hofmann, Evan Spiegel , Jensen Huang , Sundar Pichai did it ! I don't see why an African boy cannot ! Stay tuned !🇬🇭 www.katalyzeafrica.com
