Mohamed’s story reflects the progression of advanced cardiac care in action. After sustaining a traumatic heart injury, the 14-year-old initially required a pacemaker to stabilise his heart rhythm. Although his condition improved, damage to his tricuspid valve continued to progress, leading to severe narrowing and limiting his daily activities. He later underwent a pioneering minimally invasive valve-in-valve tricuspid valve replacement at SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, an advanced keyhole procedure that avoided open-heart surgery, and enabled rapid recovery and significant improvement in his quality of life within days.
