Earlier this month, our Brisbane office welcomed Love on the Spectrum star, Ronan Soussa, in celebration of Autism Awareness Month. Our team enjoyed hearing from Ronan about his work as an advocate for Hidden Disabilities Australia, raising awareness of the Sunflower Lanyard initiative – a simple but powerful way to signal that someone may have a hidden disability and might need additional support. He also shared how a supportive workplace enables him to thrive. At Sedgman, we consider workplace safety – not just physical safety, but also psychosocial – foundational to our success. Learning opportunities like these increase our understanding of diversity and how to best support our employees as we work towards an equitable environment for all.
