📣 A new version of the ACT Awareness e-Learning has launched. The content will align to the previous version and there is no need for licence holders to repeat the course unless required as part of a routine licence renewal. ➡️ The e-Learning now contains new guidance released by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), Guide Shelter Report (GSR). GSR is a set of response principles which businesses and their staff can use to respond effectively in the event of a terrorist attack. The advice is that in the event of a terrorist attack at work, staff should: - Guide people away from danger - Shelter people to keep them safe - Report to police by calling 999 GSR complements the well-known Run Hide Tell (RHT) campaign which is life-saving advice for the general public during a terrorist attack. GSR was founded on feedback from businesses who said that RHT did not account for their duty of care responsibilities to people at their venue during an incident. The GSR principles should be embedded within a business’s security policies, plans and procedures. They are not intended as a set of actions to be carried out by individual staff members without prior consideration and agreement with employers and venues. Security operatives should therefore liaise with the venue they are working within to agree how their responsibilities, encapsulated by the GSR principles, should be carried out. ➡️ Find out more on ProtectUK’s website: https://orlo.uk/qRtdt ➡️ View the Guide Shelter Report toolkit on ProtectUK’s website: https://orlo.uk/m6rcH #SkilledForSafety
