5 Stats Your Taproom Staff Should See (So You Don't Have to Be the Bad Guy) 1. The greeting matters more than you think. Guests spend nearly 30% more when they're welcomed at the door. Staff who introduce themselves see tabs run 25% higher. 2. Flights sell beer. When staff suggest starting with a flight, guests spend $13 more on average. Suggest both a flight and to-go, and tabs jump 44%. 3. Just ask if they want another. Nearly 40% of guests aren't asked. When they are asked and order another round, they spend 82% more than guests who weren't asked at all. 4. To-go beer doesn't sell itself. Guests buy to-go only 9% of the time on their own. Staff suggest it, that number jumps to 46%. 5. Invite them back. 80 out of 100 guests leave without being invited to join a loyalty program or come back for an event. When loyalty is mentioned, 29% say they'll return within a week.
