"We can't be thinking solely about one leverage point within systems. Moving economies towards greater justice means going beyond deploying one type of capital in one type of business." That was the throughline from SecondMuse Senior Vice President (APAC), Simon Baldwin, at Top Tier Impact's Nature & Climate Risk Mainstreaming panel in Singapore. This was a conversation about treating nature not as a liability on the balance sheet, but as the infrastructure our entire economy depends on. On the role SecondMuse plays in that work, Simon added, "It was great to engage with such a range of different actors, and recognize the roles each of them plays, and SecondMuse's role in bringing them together so all the levers can be pulled at once. Whether it's the insurance industry, private capital or NGOs, we're trying to bring these actors together and direct their collective efforts towards systems change and market change—and we're doing that through the design and deployment of financial instruments for systemic investing." We're so honored that these incredible industry experts were able to join Simon on the panel: Paul Singh Gill (Iota Omega Ventures Pte Ltd), Vighnesh Chandrasekar (GradIRM) (Aon Singapore), Stephen Beng, MSID-SRAD (PhillipCapital), and Tamara Singh (The Nature Conservancy), with thanks to Stanley Wong and Richard Hartung for hosting.
