Oggi è il compleanno dell’architetto Mike Davies, socio fondatore della Richard Rogers Partnership, noto per vestirsi in total red. Vi parliamo dei suoi seguenti progetti: -L’IRCAM, un’istituzione voluta dal presidente Pompidou e creata per la ricerca scientifica e la produzione musicale con mezzi informatici ed elettronici. Stabilì un programma per i giovani riguardante la composizione di musica attraverso la tecnologia. Molti concetti di musica elettronica sono emersi qui; -Il Lloyd's Building è sede della compagnia di assicurazioni Lloyd's di Londra. L'edificio consiste in tre torri principali e tre di servizio interne a uno spazio centrale. L'anima è l'Underwriting Room con la "Campana Lutine" che veniva usata per annunciare grosse perdite e recuperi. I piani più alti sono vetrati e possono essere raggiunti tramite ascensori esterni; -Il Millennium Dome è l'ottavo edificio più grande del mondo per volume utile. La cupola appare come un grande tendone bianco con dodici torri una per ogni mese dell'anno, o ogni ora dell'orologio, che rappresentano il ruolo del Greenwich Mean Time. Today is Mike Davies' birthday. He is an architect as well as a founding partner of the Richard Rogers Partnership. He is well known for always dressing from head to toe in red. We would like to talk about his following projects: -IRCAM is an institute commissioned by President Pompidou and created for scientific research and music production by computer and electronic means. Many electronic music concepts have emerged here; -The Lloyd's Building is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London. The building consists of three main towers and three service towers around a central space. Its core is the Underwriting Room, which houses the Lutine Bell, once used to announce big losses and recoveries. The higher floors are glassed in and can only be reached via the exterior lifts; -The Millennium Dome is the eighth largest building in the world by usable volume.
