Just got back from Basel🇨🇭 , with a suitcase full of Läderach chocolate 🍫, some Emmental cheese and incredible memories from the FESSH | Federation of European Societies for the Surgery of the Hand conference. I got to present research on a topic that I am genuinely passionate about: DRUJ instability following diaphyseal forearm malunions, treated with 3D-planned corrective osteotomies. It's a niche problem, but one with real world implications for the patients suffering from it. Standing in front of a room full of people who actually care about that too — hand surgeons, researchers, therapists from across Europe — was something I didn't take for granted. The lectures challenged my thinking at every turn. The workshops were the kind of hands-on learning I wish we had more of, and the hallway conversations — the ones nobody plans — were honestly some of the best. None of this would have been possible without my supervisors Joost Colaris and Eline van Es. Your guidance, trust, and dedication made this research — and this opportunity — a reality.
