Green tech is often treated as a promise. Its impact, however, will depend on the systems built around it. At the launch of the SDA Bocconi Green Tech Initiative, hosted at the SDA Bocconi Rome Campus, the discussion focused on what the next phase of sustainability requires in practice. Risk models able to look beyond standard business cycles. More reliable data on emissions and decarbonization targets. New ways to bring transparency to voluntary carbon markets. Better tools to mobilize capital toward the green transition. Across two days, scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and industry experts explored the relationship between technology, AI, regulation, and sustainable finance. From climate scenario analysis to supply-chain emissions, from ESG scoring to the ocean economy, the conversation pointed to a field where research and decision-making are increasingly connected. The SDA Bocconi Green Tech Initiative was created to work at this intersection. Its goal is to bring academic research closer to the questions companies, investors, and institutions are facing today. The conversation opened in Rome will continue in 2027, with new opportunities to deepen the themes at the heart of the initiative. #SDABocconi #SDABocconiRoma #BusinessSchool #SchoolOfManagement Nadia Ameli Paola Cillo Mariano Massimiliano Croce Giacomo Bezzi Alberto Brambilla Pablo Casaux Tara Sabre Collier Francesco Cometa Rubén Fernández-Fuertes Giampaolo Gabbi Gimede Gigante Briseida Gjoza Nicolas Guiñez Nadia Humphreys Alejandra Inzunza Andrea Maggiani Philippa Nuttall Stefano Pogutz Emanuela Prandelli Zacharias Sautner Claudio Tebaldi
