During Milan Design Week, the Salone del Mobile set the pace, while the Fuorisalone unfolded across districts, courtyards and institutions throughout the city — from Brera and Cinque Vie to Tortona and Isola, to name just a few - turning Milan into a continuous design experience for students of SDA Bocconi’s Master in Fashion, Experience & Design Management. At its core, the INTERNI – Materiae exhibition, hosted at the Università Statale, offered #MAFED students one of the week’s most layered perspectives on design. The Latin title framed the theme: materials are also subjects, disciplines and fields of knowledge. Ecology, economy and philosophy converged in a reflection on the expressive possibilities of design and architecture. As part of the MAFED field learning journey, this visit offered a close view of how design operates across cultural, creative and strategic dimensions — and how narratives, experiences and meaning are built in real contexts.
