Radioactive contamination rarely comes alone. 🌊🐟 In the environment, it often co-occurs with chemical substances such as heavy metals or organic pollutants. But… what does that combination really mean for ecosystems? At the SETAC Europe 36th Annual Meeting in Maastricht, our colleague Jordi Vives i Batlle had the opportunity to present his poster on a new model that specifically addresses these mixture effects: 👇 ➡️ A population model for fish (Atlantic cod) in the Oslofjord ➡️ Integrating radioactive and chemical stressors ➡️ Aiming to support better risk assessments for mixed-contaminated sites Key takeaway: to properly understand the role of radioactive contaminants, we need to consider the full cocktail of stressors. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the poster! Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) #SETAC2026 #impactstudies #environmentalscience #SCKCEN
