As climate change and globalisation reshape the distribution of disease vectors, international collaboration is becoming increasingly important to anticipate and respond to emerging health threats. Today, Sciensano welcomed researchers, surveillance experts and public health leaders from across the Pasteur Network for the scientific convening "Arboviruses in Focus: Spotlight on Dengue". 🙏 A sincere thank you to all participants, speakers and organisers. Thanks to your expertise, engagement and collaboration we could strengthen international cooperation on dengue and other arboviral diseases, identify key research priorities and foster knowledge exchange across disciplines and countries. 🦟 While dengue is not currently a priority disease in Belgium, the spread of invasive mosquito species such as the tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) highlights the importance of preparedness and surveillance. Through projects such as MEMO+, Sciensano monitors the presence of exotic mosquito species and works together with citizens to better understand their distribution in Belgium. 👉 You too can contribute to mosquito surveillance: report observations of tiger mosquitoes in Belgium on https://lnkd.in/erdCC6hE
