Congratulations to the Osgoode/Schulich student team on winning the first annual OpenJustice AI Benchmarkathon! 👏✨ Guided by Professor Martin Petrin, the team competed alongside teams from leading international universities in a collaborative legal AI challenge. The winning team included Sneha Varadarajan, Blessing Uja, Tracey Gomes, Tom (Dongwoo) L., Caliyah Simon, Tirth Shah, Armaan Hayer, Scott Lu, Elvis Agbemelo, Arted Yzeiri, Syed Masood Raza, Alison M., Seif Abdelnaby, and Abdul Merhi. The Benchmarkathon brought together legal technology enthusiasts to build and evaluate AI reasoning workflows using OpenJustice, an open-access, no-code platform developed at the Conflict Analytics Lab at Queen's University. The team’s winning project focused on AI-assisted drafting of complex merger agreements, highlighting student innovation at the intersection of law, business, and artificial intelligence.
