Every graduating class steps into a changing world. 🎓 This week’s Throwback Thursday looks back at convocation moments from Schulich’s history: graduates lining up before ceremony, candid moments in regalia, class photos and campus scenes that marked the move from student life to alumni life. Across six decades, each class has entered a different business landscape. The 1970s brought oil shocks, inflation and questions about risk and long-term planning. The 1980s brought entrepreneurship, financial change and growing global competition. The 1990s brought recession pressures, free trade, NAFTA and a more connected business world. The 2000s tested leaders through digital disruption and the global financial crisis. The 2010s brought new focus to analytics, sustainability, responsible business and global enterprise. Today’s graduates enter a world shaped by AI, supply chains, health, climate, technology leadership and continued change. Through it all, convocation has remained one of the most meaningful moments in the Schulich experience: the point where years of learning, friendships, late nights, presentations and milestones become part of a larger alumni story. As we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2026 at convocation next week, these archive moments remind us that every graduating class carries the Schulich legacy forward in its own time. Congratulations to all graduates, past and present. 💙💚 🎓 Graduating this year? Attending convocation? We’d love to see your Schulich memories.
