At CASA DECOR 2026 in Madrid (9 April – 24 May 2026), we are presenting two distinct installations that explore how wood can shape atmosphere, perception, and spatial experience. "Ofuro", developed with Carmen Barasona, is inspired by Japanese bathing rituals. Our Long Board Oak flooring in Smoke Dark creates a calm, continuous foundation across the spatial sequence, while Ridgeline wall panels introduce structure and subtle movement through light. The result is a reduced, atmospheric environment where material defines the experience. "The Listening Bar" with Mariana Paccieri Paz explores space through sound and perception. A fully coordinated walnut solution across floors and walls establishes a cohesive material language. Developed through long-standing colour research and craftsmanship, the surfaces support an immersive concept where material, acoustics, and atmosphere are closely interwoven. Across both projects, we demonstrate how continuous surface solutions, combined with natural finishes, can create depth, warmth, and a distinct spatial identity. At Schotten & Hansen, our focus remains on combining craftsmanship, material expertise, and innovation to develop surfaces that are durable, regenerable, and adaptable across a wide range of applications.
