Finding the right anilox parameters has always been a loop: engrave, measure, adjust, engrave again. We replaced the loop with a grid. Matrix Mode lets you define the parameter ranges you want to test — laser energy, beam frequency, focus, pulse length, pulse delay — and the step size for each. The machine then lays the combinations out as an engraving matrix on the cylinder and works through every cell in a single autonomous run. What changes in the workflow: Before — pick parameters → engrave → measure → repeat. Days, sometimes weeks. After — pick the matrix → engrave → measure → evaluate. One autonomous run replaces a huge stack of single iterations. The operator's job moves from manual iteration to evaluation: which cell on the grid is the best fit for the application. The largest impact is on new or changed engraving surfaces. Cell-design adaptation that used to span weeks of iteration condenses into one or two focused matrix runs. Laser engraving stops being an experiment with each new substrate and becomes a systematic search. Matrix Mode is a feature of the Heliolas AX, our anilox flagship. Built in Vreden. #heliolas #SCHEPERS #anilox #flexography #lasertechnology
