This electric in-wheel drive system supports greater efficiency, comfort and flexibility in towing applications - helping to boost the tow vehicle in high-torque situations, recover braking energy and lower wear on the brakes. When unhitched, the Schaeffler PowerWheels enable powerful and precise remote control - even with heavy trailers and in thight environments. TOVION is being developed as part of the eConTrailer project, funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie.
