SHN recently hosted our second #SickleCellDisease Town Hall, and we thank all of the amazing patients, families, healthcare professionals, and community leaders who came together to co-design Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) care in Scarborough. This event was an opportunity to share the initiatives put in place since SHN's first SCD Town Hall in 2023, as well as learn about how the community’s needs have grown and changed in order to continue our efforts in enhancing SCD care. Attendees heard moving remarks from patients with lived experience, and we were joined by distinguished guests and community advocates Biba Tinga, President and Executive Director of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada; Lanre Tunji-Ajayi, President and CEO of the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario; and Ulysee Guerrier, President of the Sickle Cell Association of Ontario.
