Today is #InternationalDayOfTheMidwife, a time to celebrate the essential role midwives play in supporting healthy pregnancies, births, and families, and to recognize how the profession continues to evolve to meet the needs of our communities! At SHN, midwifery has been a valued part of care for more than three decades, contributing to improved outcomes for families across Scarborough. We’re proud to work alongside three exceptional midwifery groups: Diversity Midwives, Sages-Femmes Rouge Valley Midwives, and Trillium Midwives. Together, SHN’s 22 midwives provide comprehensive, client-centred care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Their work spans clinics, hospital settings, and home visits, grounded in continuity of care and informed choice.
