Over the past two days in Basel, one message became very clear: endometriosis can no longer remain a blind spot in healthcare. At the health.tech | global summit, this topic came up repeatedly across sessions and conversations. With March being World Endometriosis Month, it was a great platform to bring these conversations to the forefront and continue them beyond the summit. The summit also hosted the startup pitch competition, which began with 160+ applicants. 15 startups were selected to pitch, and three finalists made it to the stage. We were honored to share the final stage alongside PulseMedica and Cogniguard. Congratulations to PulseMedica for winning the competition. Beyond the pitch competition, the conversations around endometriosis were an important part of the program. The panel “The $200 billion blind spot: Why endometriosis cannot be ignored” brought together Stefan Tuchschmid, María Teresa Pérez Zaballos, Sebastian Bohl, and Cinzia Donato as part of the discussion. The panel highlighted the reality behind the statistics. Women also shared their lived experiences with endometriosis and the long delays many face before receiving a diagnosis. The discussion addressed the persistent diagnostic gap, the lack of research funding and investment compared with the scale of the disease, and how the cost and access to diagnosis and treatment vary significantly across markets, shaping very different patient journeys depending on where someone lives. In addition to the panel discussion, Stefan Tuchschmid also gave the keynote “Closing the diagnostic gap: Ai-Guided Ultrasound for Endometriosis”, focusing on the importance of improving early detection and strengthening ultrasound expertise within the diagnostic pathway. Thank you to health.tech | global summit Basel for organizing this platform and creating space for these important conversations. And thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, took the time to learn more about what we are building at Scanvio, and cheered for us during the pitch competition. The interest and conversations over the past two days meant a lot to our team. Until next time, Basel. #WorldEndometriosisMonth #Endometriosis #WomensHealth #HealthTech #Scanvio 💜
