At SBM Offshore, innovation is about testing new ideas in real-world conditions. Together with our partner Technip Energies through STS JV, TotalEnergies EP Suriname and Beyond the Sea, we are evaluating a wind-assisted kite traction system for the towing of the #GranMorgu FPSO from #China to #Suriname. This first-of-a-kind project for an #FPSO will assess whether kite-assisted traction can help reduce towing duration and fuel consumption, while providing valuable insights into the application of this technology for large-scale offshore assets.
