Delivering reliably – even when the corridor changes. The full closure of the Rhine Valley line is currently challenging the entire industry. Traffic flows need to be rethought, replanned, and executed differently. We have done exactly that: 👉 Our first P400 service as part of the Alsace rerouting via France has successfully operated. To bypass the closure in Germany, we routed the service from Basel via France (Plaine d’Alsace) to Kehl. A corridor shift always comes with new conditions: different infrastructure, additional interfaces, and adjusted operational processes. The key is to manage this complexity and translate it into stable production. Operational context: - Rerouted via France (Plaine d’Alsace) due to the closure in Germany - Route Basel – France – Kehl - P400 traffic – normally not permitted on this axis in France, operated under an “Exceptional Transport” regime What makes this possible: • Well-established international collaboration • High flexibility in planning and operations • Clear operational steering And above all, a conscious strategic decision: 👉 With SBB Cargo France, we have deliberately built the setup to remain operational and resilient in case of infrastructure disruptions – enabling us to run alternative corridors such as the Alsace rerouting. Situations like this once again show: 👉 Resilience in rail freight is not about perfect conditions – it is about being prepared and able to deliver when it matters. We keep moving. #RailFreight #Intermodal #Resilience #Logistics #P400 #SBBCARGOINTERNATIONAL #SupplyChain #OperationalExcellence #AlsaceRerouting
