At MDTB Cells, mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are isolated from donated umbilical cord tissue, purified, expanded and frozen so they can be stored as a cell product for clinical use. The goal is to apply their ability to calm excessive immune reactions in severe inflammatory diseases, including sepsis, graft-versus-host disease and inflammatory lung complications in premature infants. ๐Ÿ’ก This work is also linked to the SaxoCell project MSC-READY, coordinated by Mario Rรผdiger at Technische Universitรคt Dresden.
