Not a big one for year-ending posts, but making an exception for a special year on so many fronts. Two big cricket events, India's Tour of England and the Men's Asia Cup - and yours truly found himself at the helm of both those productions. The England tour represented a few firsts: a new captain on the field for India and a new captain assuming command at Sony Pictures Networks India Limited. Thanks GAURAV BANERJEE, our CEO, for sending us down a creative path that unearthed conversational gold. A stellar team of talent headed by the likes of Gaurav Kapur, Harsha Bhogle and Sanjana Ganesan bolstered by unique storytelling concepts like Cricket Kahanibaaz feat Vimal Kumar. And another big ‘first’, a TV / OTT split with JioStar, a potentially challenging endeavor, made a thoroughly pleasant experience by Prashant Khanna, Sandeep Srikanth, Siddharth Sharma, Sundar Iyer and their teams. It helped that the cricket was quite unforgettable too! And then there was the Asia Cup. Enough has been said about the tenuous nature of the tournament itself, but behind-the-scenes, it was RAJESH KAUL's stellar leadership that made things rock steady for us. It marked a high-profile return to world feed production for Sony Sports. Big thanks to Shishir Gupta for trusting us. Huge props to Wrik Ganguly and Abhimanyu Vir Pratap for putting together a product that matched all the explosive T20 action on the field. Special mention to all stake holders, Neville Bastawalla & Vaibhav Chib for the peppy campaigns. Rohit Sinha, Gurmeet Singh, Sumit Kejriwal and teams for tolerating us and for fighting a whole different battle on a different front! Kingshuk Bhattacharya, Gaurav Sahni, Derick Lobo and teams for being the backBONE for everything we do. Venkat Charan for smoothly managing all things Tamil & Telugu.
