Senior Event Manager at Zapier

The 2026 Zapier Summit is officially a wrap ... and wow, this one was special! Marking my 5th Zapier All Company Event. We brought 650+ Zapiens together for a week that was intentionally designed to be 75% strategy, 25% connection, and 100% energizing. A few highlights I’m especially proud of: 🔹 Innovation & Experimentation Day Instead of talking about innovation, we built it into the agenda. Major shoutout to Emily Mabie for building The Connectory - an "all on Zapier" solution that enabled attendees to spin up peer-to-peer learning conversations. And Rachael Garbee & Gabriela D. Lopez Ponce for bringing ZapLab to life — a live build-along space where attendees could roll up their sleeves and create in real time. Even more meaningful: the space supported Black Girls Code, connecting our experimentation mindset to real-world impact. Endlessly grateful to you, Maggie Roque for that connection! 🔹 Customer Stories on Mainstage + 4 Customer Fireside Chats We prioritized customer impact front and center. Real builders. Real outcomes. Real reminders of why our work matters. Xander Castro FTW! 🔹 Themed Lounges Game rooms. Music spaces. Rest and recharge corners. A fully outfitted Nursing lounge for new & nursing parents. We intentionally created spaces that came alive in new ways, including our first-ever Zapien Band Night - shoutout: Diomer O..(turns out… we have serious talent 👀🎸). Who knew how many musicians we’ve been working alongside? 🔹 From the moment attendees arrived, they were met with an interactive experience curated by Marcos Valdez. Points, prompts, challenges, and friendly competition encouraged people to show up fully: attend sessions, meet someone new, join a build-along, and share a special shoutout or note of gratitude. And because we were in LA, we leaned into it. Our theme centered around backstage production. At Zapier, we’re the crew. The lighting, the sound, the set design. We’re the ones making the magic happen behind the scenes. Our customers? They’re the stars. That narrative came to life throughout the week. From mainstage storytelling to offsite moments across the city. We took teams to LA Kings games and even to the Magic Castle — immersive, memorable experiences that reinforced the idea that what happens behind the curtain is just as powerful as what’s in the spotlight. Large internal events are often underestimated. But when done right, they: • Accelerate strategy adoption • Increase cross-functional trust • Reinforce culture at scale • And remind people they’re building something meaningful Huge gratitude to the partners, vendors, cross-functional leads, and the small but mighty team who made this happen. Lauren Johnson Already thinking about how we evolve it for 2027. 🚀
