Testing Reusable Cups at Schiphol: Why we invited another airport 😄 ☕♻️ Watch Nick Gabriel from Heathrow test our reusable cup system at Lounge 4. Yes—we literally invited one of Europe's biggest airports to try it first. Why? Because if a coffee connoisseur from Heathrow thinks it's good, everyone will 😁 . (Plus, we wanted honest feedback. No point asking your friends, right? 😉) Spoiler alert: Nick loved it (and we 🫶 Nick for that!). The system worked. The coffee was excellent. Week one = success! 🎉 Here's where it gets real: Micha Dijkhuizen, the Innovator leading this pilot, thought his previous project—a robot in the baggage hall—was complicated. Then came the reusable cup pilot. 🤖☕ 🤷‍♂️ Turns out, orchestrating several partners around a shared vision requires more than just good intentions. Add in complex logistics, stakeholder alignment, and hunting for a power outlet in the terminal (they're rarer than a 🦄 ), and you've got a masterclass in ecosystem thinking. For this pilot we're tracking return rates, waste reduction, passenger satisfaction, staff experience, and outlet performance. After week one? The data is looking good. 📈 Our circular transition is off to a promising start! Full results coming in March. (Did I mention we are measuring it properly? 📊 ) If you want to test this system yourself, swing by Lounge 4 in the coming weeks and be part of the circular economy revolution. ☕♻️ Huge thanks to Micha Dijkhuizen for leading this initiative. Special thanks to the Heathrow team—Nick Gabriel, Alexander Martin, and Agate Gedrovica—for all the honest feedback. And to our pilot partners (Avolta, Vermaat, PackBack, cupstack, Circulware and Renewi) for making this ecosystem work. 🌱 🙌 Royal Schiphol Group #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Aiports #Innovation #Collaboration Niels van Campenhout | Denise Pronk | Annefleur Klaus | Ruben Verbaan | Bram Kreté | Inge van Baardwijk MBA
