In two weeks, I will be taking on the Lakeland 50 — a challenging 50-mile race with around 11,000 feet of climbing through the Lake District. The training has not been easy to fit around everything else going on, but that's part of the journey. Some of the best lessons in pacing, preparation, and getting comfortable with discomfort have come from the miles, rather than work. Wish me luck — I will report back on the other side, hopefully still able to walk.
