“Even the greatest inventors have not always worked alone…innovation comes from working with others”. Thank you Deborah Rutter, for your 11 years of service as President of the Kennedy Center, our nation’s cultural center. During the pandemic, Deb and her team partnered with artists such as children’s illustrator and cellist Yo-Yo Ma to bring meaning and joy into our lives. We took this 3 minute video on my porch in 2022 when she visited me. The topic? Why we need different perspectives and talents collaborating in order to bring out the greatest innovation. Deb talked about the cross music genre cross discipline collaborations that they encouraged at the Kennedy Center. As you watch this video, are there those whom you have not thought of collaborating with because they are outside of your discipline? What if you reached out for a conversation. I’ve found in my own work the most fruitful sparks come when I’m talking with different leaders from sports, the arts, science, and business. #SuperpowerswithSanyin #leadership #Innovation Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business
