Santander Corporate & Investment Banking acted as Global Coordinator to ENGIE Brasil Energia on its R$ 8.4 billion follow-on equity offering.   The transaction involved the in-kind contribution of ENGIE Brasil Participações’ 40% stake in JIRAU ENERGIA – one of Brazil’s largest hydroelectric assets, with 3,750 MW of installed capacity, located on the Madeira River in Rondônia – alongside a cash component from minority shareholders and new investors. It is expected to support ENGIE Brasil Energia’s capital structure optimization, deleveraging and future capital allocation opportunities.   This deal also reinforces ENGIE Brasil Energia’s diversified energy platform and its commitment to generating shareholder value and Santander CIB’s leadership within the Power & Utilities sector.   Congratulations to ENGIE Brasil and its shareholders on the successful transaction and thank you ENGIE for the trust.
