For recent graduate Jalen Paige ’26, technology is most powerful when it improves lives. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age nine, Jalen experienced firsthand how innovation can make daily life more manageable. That experience inspired him to study computer science and pursue a career focused on building technology that serves people. At Santa Clara University, Jalen has combined technical expertise with a commitment to ethics and social impact. Through internships at Meta, he has helped develop accessibility-focused features for Facebook and Instagram users. On campus, he has spent four years helping lead Igwebuike, Santa Clara’s Black Student Union, creating spaces where Black students can build community and belonging.
