Agentic AI ⢠Quantum Information ⢠HPC
š We didn't just predict the market. We did it on a quantum computer! I'm beyond excited to share that my team, iQuanters (Parth Barot, Jaydeep S., and me), won the Grand Prize at the first-ever quantum hackathon in California, hosted by Berkeley Gateway Accelerator and XpyQ! š Our project is called QuStox, a hybrid quantum and AI system for stock analysis. It works by combining two signals. On the technical side, we feed a stock's price history into a 16-qubit Ising quantum reservoir, which is basically a fixed grid of entangled qubits that evolves under its own physics and encodes patterns in the data into a quantum state. We then read that state out with a small trained neural network. On the other side, we run an agentic workflow that does real-time market sentiment analysis, so when one signal misses something, the other tends to catch it. The part we're most proud of is that we ran the whole quantum pipeline live on a real IBM quantum processor (ibm_marrakesh), not just a simulator. We met so many great teams over the weekend. One of them is team ArQiteQ (Hanah Rahman, Vibha Choudhary, Benjamin Toney), with whom we're sharing the first place. They built an inverse-design engine where you tell it the quantum error-correction code you want to run, and it works backwards to tell you exactly what superconducting material and doping recipe you'd need to build it. Genuinely impressive work, and we're honored to share the top spot with a group this talented. A hackathon really does run on people, not just code. Thank you Ayushman Dey for keeping our infrastructure running smoothly. Thank you Marian Corpus and Kyle Valiton for the energy that kept us going at hour 30.
