I’ve been telling everyone I know that long form writing is going to make a comeback in India. The nuance to that is that the old school long form writing will not work anymore. A generation steeped in and grown weary of short form dopamine casinos will now seek a blend of the old and the new. The same highs from short form, but with the depth and character of slow burning long form pieces. Tigerfeathers started this trend. Alter mag is taking it forward by fusing world class design with curated, thoughtful pieces. I don’t know these guys personally, and have never interacted with Aditya beyond the comfortable confines of social media. But I’m sure they must have entertained, at some point, even if in passing, the thought of increasing the frequency of publication to drive more organic traffic to their cash generating business. I hope they will resist that urge. They (and Tigerfeathers) are on the cusp of capitalising on a big change in media today. I wish both of them tremendous success. I’m a big believer, and (hopefully), a future contributor in some shape or form to their journey. Rahul Sanghi
