Campaign - The Galpins Road Public Safety Initiative | Trauma-Informed Care & Organisational Training Advocate | Public Policy & Systemic Accountability Lived-Experience Advocacy
When the system fails to protect our most vulnerable, we must become the architects of our own healing. 📊🕊️ As an advocate for systemic accountability and trauma-informed training, I spent years analyzing how institutional frameworks drop the ball. But the true masterclass in human resilience didn't happen in a boardroom or a policy meeting. It happened at home. Following the unimaginable loss of my beautiful daughter, Sahara (may she rest in peace), I watched the traditional systems fail to understand or support the complex grief of her brothers. Trauma doesn’t fit into neat, bureaucratic boxes. When I saw the gaps where my children were being failed, I made a life-changing decision to step out of the standard machine, homeschool them, and build an environment tailored to their actual biological and psychological needs. Today, I am incredibly proud to share a glimpse of the infrastructure we built out of that heartbreak: "Mr. Mole and the Greedy, Needy Troll," an authorial collaboration with my sons, Zain and Dean. Children possess a brilliant, innate intelligence. If we stop trying to pathologize their symptoms and instead learn from them, they will show us the exact blueprint for recovery. We designed this book around "glimmers"—those vital, scientific micro-moments of safety and peace that signal to a hypervigilant nervous system that it is safe to breathe again. Through the metaphor of Mr. Mole searching for his "Quiet Hole" while navigating the overwhelming weight of a "Greedy, Needy Troll," my children found a way to externalize and process their grief. True trauma-informed leadership isn't just a tagline on a corporate presentation. It is the turning deep systemic failure into creative sovereignty and survival. Sahara’s memory is woven into every single page, and I could not be prouder of the resilience Zain, Dean & Zizi have shown in mapping our way through the storm. #SystemicAccountability #TraumaInformedCare #SystemsLeadership #GriefAndLoss #LivedExperience #NervousSystemRegulation #CorporateTraining #PublicSafety
